Tele-Design Drafting,
our Canadian trading name with a more descriptive title of the services of Charlton
Somerville Consultants to the Marine & Offshore Industries throughout Europe and North
America
After fifteen years of
pen & ink manual draughting, traveling world-wide to Clients offices, Martin
Somerville returned and settled near the river Tyne starting Charlton Somerville
Consultants, advancing into the world of CAD draughting with AutoCAD R12,13 & 14
followed by Kockum's Stearbear/Tribon design fabrication software for shipbuilding
and Intergraph's MicroStation.
Although still available
to travel to Client’s offices, an added in-house facility is available to all clients
with data swiftly transferred by fax, modem and Email on the Internet.
Apart from Shipbuilding
Steelwork, Scantling, Fabrication and Outfit detailing, services to Ship Owners, Managers,
Marine Consultants & Naval Architects, the services we offer include the transfer of
old drawing prints into CAD format, Fire & Safety plans updated with refit
modifications, often surveying vessels in dry-dock for revised Safety Plans & General
Arrangements.
Principally working
alone, I offer a personal service, larger workloads are handled by calling upon on a vast
variety of associates gained from twenty five years of freelance design drafting, which
developed since completing a design office apprenticeship at Swan Hunter Shipbuilders on
the river Tyne, UK.
Presently involved with
NEVESBU in Den Haag, Holland, recent projects have included F.P.S.O's Floating Storage
Units and Shuttle Tankers in The Netherlands and at Harland & Wolff, Belfast followed
by OSV's at North American Shipyards in Louisiana, USA.
We offer instant on-site
office facilities at dry-docks and shipyards worldwide, with Mobile Phone, Fax &
Computer Modem, CAD Plotter & Drawing Boards thus complimenting the International
facilities of Charlton Somerville’s Tele-Design Services.
